Lambert Heller

Lambert Heller started TIB’s Open Science Lab in 2013. His talks and projects mainly look at how research infrastructures and cultural heritage institutions change and grow in a networked, globalized world. Main aspects are responsible research data governance, and building digital capability. One prime example is Lambert’s team making VIVO popular in Germany and Europe, and more generally helping research communities being less dominated by proprietary research information systems and indicators. Another popular example is helping communities by running a book sprint: Inviting a group of experts, and guiding them through writing a book within one week. Since 2017, Lambert explores the opportunities of Bitcoin and similar for research funding, research data governance, and decentralized identity for researchers.
