Mooney Flat (also, Mooney's Flat)^[2] is an unincorporated community in Nevada County, California.^[1] It lies at an elevation of 741 feet (226 m).^[1]

The name honors Thomas Mooney, who began a trading post and hotel there in 1851.^[2]
