Malakoff (also, Malakoff Diggings)[2] is a former settlement in Nevada County, California.[1] It lay at an elevation of 3051 feet (930 m).[1] Malakoff is located 1.25 miles (2.0 km) west of North Bloomfield.[2]

Malakoff was a mining town, named for Malakoff tower, near Sebastopol, a name in the news during the Crimean War.[2]
