It makes me really sad to read that.

When I got diagnosed with cancer fall 2014, I had hundreads of emails
from Debianites who showed support. It was very real to feel cared
about. It wasn't much, but it helped wonders.

Could we at least all realise that jail is the absolute opposite of fun?
I once was in custody for 22 hours. I don't remember it as particularily
hard… because we could talk once in a while with my comrade through the
foodtrap, and because I was convinced I would get out quickly. Don't we
owe Dmitry to make, at least, the whole thing more bearable?

My tumors are stable these days, but this won't last forever. Will the
project publish an obituary once I'm dead like it did for other project
members? Yet, it's a public statement that is not going to help me much
at that point. Again, we need to get in touch with his lawyers to know
what's best, but I hope Debian as an organisation can show support to
its members in other occasions than their death.
