Malik Barron Jackson[1] (born January 11, 1990) is an American football defensive tackle for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Tennessee. Jackson was drafted by the Denver Broncos in fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
Early years
In 2007, Jackson was named to Super Prep All-Farwest, Prep Star All-West, Cal-Hi Sports All-State first team. Jackson was named Los Angeles Daily News All-Area Co-Defensive MVP in high school.
College career
Jackson attended the University of Southern California in 2008 and 2009. He transferred to the University of Tennessee in 2010.[2] Jackson was named to the AP All-SEC Second Team.

Jackson was selected 137th overall in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos.

2012–2014
Jackson's rookie season was uneventful, although he played 14 games he started 0, earning only 5 tackles. In 2013, he played in all 16 games and started 5, earning a respectable 42 tackles, 6 sacks, 4 passes defended, and a forced fumble. Jackson once again played 16 games, with 3 starts, in 2014, yielding similar results, with 42 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 4 passes defended, and a forced fumble. It is notable, however, that Jackson started every playoff game in the 2013-14 season, including Super Bowl XLVIII.
2015
Moved to defensive end using a 3-4 base defense under new head coach Gary Kubiak, Jackson had a breakout season and finally started all 16 games. He recorded 45 tackles, 5 sacks, 2 run stuffs, 7 pass deflections, and a safety. His most notable play of the season came during the biggest game of his career. During the first quarter of Super Bowl 50 against the Carolina Panthers on February 7, 2016, Jackson fell on a Cam Newton fumble forced by Von Miller and returned it for the first touchdown of his career. Jackson also recorded 5 tackles in the 24-10 win to give him his first championship.[3]

On March 9, 2016, Jackson signed a six-year, $90 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.[4]
Personal life
His twin brother, Marquis, was a defensive end at Texas Southern University and also played in the NFL.[5]
