Adell is a village in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 516 at the 2010 census. It is included in the Sheboygan, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Geography

Adell is located at 43°37′6″N 87°57′5″W / 43.61833°N 87.95139°W / 43.61833; -87.95139 (43.618396, -87.951415).[6]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.57 square miles (1.48 km2), of which, 0.56 square miles (1.45 km2) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 km2) is water.[1]

2010 census

As of the census[3] of 2010, there were 516 people, 210 households, and 146 families residing in the village. The population density was 921.4 inhabitants per square mile (355.8/km2). There were 224 housing units at an average density of 400.0 per square mile (154.4/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 95.3% White, 0.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 1.9% Asian, 0.4% from other races, and 1.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.5% of the population.

There were 210 households of which 30.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.9% were married couples living together, 11.0% had a female householder with no husband present, 6.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 30.5% were non-families. 22.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 2.90.

The median age in the village was 41.3 years. 23.3% of residents were under the age of 18; 5.6% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 28.1% were from 25 to 44; 27.4% were from 45 to 64; and 15.7% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 51.0% male and 49.0% female.

2000 census

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 517 people, 207 households, and 144 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,019.5 people per square mile (391.4/km²). There were 216 housing units at an average density of 426.0 per square mile (163.5/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 97.49% White, 0.19% Native American, 0.39% Asian, 0.19% Pacific Islander, 0.39% from other races, and 1.35% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.32% of the population.

There were 207 households out of which 32.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.1% were married couples living together, 9.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.0% were non-families. 23.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.50 and the average family size was 2.97.

In the village the population was spread out with 25.9% under the age of 18, 9.9% from 18 to 24, 27.9% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 12.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 103.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.8 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $51,000, and the median income for a family was $55,179. Males had a median income of $40,104 versus $24,659 for females. The per capita income for the village was $21,166. About 2.8% of families and 3.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 5.4% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
