The 2012 Summer of Champions' Cup took place in Bucharest, Romania on August 11, 2012. It was organized by Thiess Holding in association with German marketing agency Sportfive being played at Arena Națională.[1] The Cup was contested between Spanish giants Barcelona and Romanian side Dinamo București.

Blaugrana rounded off their pre-season with a 0–2 win over Dinamo Bucharest, with an early opener from Lionel Messi and a late second goal from Ibrahim Afellay, as well as the much awaited reappearance of David Villa. The win ensured that Barça ended their pre-season unbeaten run.[2][3]
