S. Venkata Mohan

S Venkata Mohan (born 1 July 1970) is an Indian engineer who has specialization in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Biotechnology, Bioenergy, Bioengineering.[1] He was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize in 2014.[2][3][4]

Dr. Mohan’s focal objective of research is to develop the energy harnessing methodologies that can easily be adapted by the effluent treatment plants so as to produce energy besides treatment. Dr. Mohan reoriented his research since 2002 towards the development of novel and sustainable waste remediation technologies giving prime emphasis on production of clean bio-fuels viz. biohydrogen (acidogenic fermentation), bioelectricity (microbial fuel cell (MFC)), biodiesel and value added products viz., bioplastics and fatty acids from waste.
