Pratap Gaurav Kendra

Pratap Gaurav Kendra Rashtriya Tirtha is a new tourist spot at Tiger Hill in Udaipur city in the Rajasthan state of India. Started by the Veer Shromani Maharana Pratap Samiti, this project aims at providing information about historical idol Maharana Pratap of Mewar and its past. This project aims at providing details about ancient heritage with the help of modern instruments.

General

Pratap Gaurav Kendra is aimed at providing detailed information about the history and achievements of the king of Mewar Maharana Pratap. Its foundation stone was laid by the RSS general secretary Mohan Bhagwat in 2008. This is spread in across 25 bighas of land, and would include exhibition of 300 paintings related with the life of Maharana Pratap and other warriors including Bappa Rawal, Rana Sanga, Hadi Rani and many more.[1] The expected budget of this project was 100 crore rupees. Mr. Mohan Bhagwat performed Bhumi Poojan and laid the foundation stone amongst the chanting of Vedic mantras. The foundation function was also attended by state home minister Gulab Chand Kataria, Udaipur MP Kiran Maheshwari, Ajmer MLA Vasudev Devnani and social worker Madan Paliwal.[2] It was inaugurated also by Mohan Bhagwat on 28 Nov 2016.[3] The event was attended by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria and may others.[4]

Geography

It is located at Tiger Hills in the Bargaon area, near Manoharpura, around 9 km from Udaipur City Railway Station.[5]

Monument of Maharana Pratap

The prime attraction of Pratap Gaurav Kendra is the 57 feet high metal statue of Maharana Pratap in a sitting posture. This project provides information on the past of Mewar as well as India, showing how it was plundered by the invaders and how its boundaries were reduced. It also provides detailed history of other characters of like Bappa Rawal, Hadi Rani, Panna Dai, Rana Sangha etc. Three series of three movies have been produced to show the entire history.[5]

Bharat Darshan Deergha

It is a large amphitheater, showing the geographical and cultural history from ancient to present day Bharat. It highlights Takshashila, the ancient Indian University.[5]

Meditation for nation

Pratap Gaurav Kendra-Rashtriya Tirtha also has a provision of a 10-minute show, named as meditation for nation.

Other attractions

Other attractions include four art galleries with more than 300 paintings.[5]
