Football death

In January 2009, the school's football coach, David Jason Stinson, was indicted with a charge of reckless homicide in the death of lineman Max Gilpin, who collapsed during practice in August 2008 when the heat index reached 94. Gilpin had a temperature of 107 when he arrived at the hospital, and he died three days later. Stinson resigned pending the outcome of the case,[1] and was found not guilty in September 2009.[2]
