History

This station received its original construction permit from the Federal Communications Commission on December 26, 1996.^[2] The new station was assigned the KAKA call sign by the FCC on February 7, 1997.^[3] After multiple extensions, KAKA received its license to cover from the FCC on March 12, 2002.^[4]

KAKA programming is also carried on a network of broadcast translator stations to extend or improve the coverage area of the station.
