Jorge Manuel da Silva Paixão Santos (born 19 December 1965), known as Paixão, is a former Portuguese footballer who played as a striker, and the current manager of C.D. Mafra.
Playing career
Born in Almada, Setúbal District, Paixão's 11-year professional career was all but spent in the Portuguese second league , representing Amora FC (two spells), União de Coimbra, Louletano D.C. and GD Bragança.
The exception to this occurred in the 1985–86 season, when he appeared three times as a substitute for Académica de Coimbra in the Primeira Liga.[1] He retired in June 1995 at the age of 29, after a spell with amateurs Atlético Clube da Malveira.
Managerial career
Paixão started working as a manager in 2001, his first head coaching experience started with Almada A.C. in the Setúbal Football Association. In the next ten years, he coached some portuguese historical clubs, also having spells in Angola with C.R. Caála and Qatar with Al-Mesaimeer Sports Club.
In September 2013, Paixão was appointed at second tier side S.C. Farense.[2] In March of the following year he first reached the top flight, leading S.C. Braga
On 24 June, he signed for Polish team Zawisza Bydgoszcz.[3]
