ilmkidunya (Urdu: علم کی دنیا) is an online education portal in Pakistan, it provides educational news regarding Pakistani colleges and universities. It includes a directory of universities, Pakistani exams results,[1] programs and courses offered, admission information, information on finding jobs, and much more. Finding a job in Pakistan is easier via ilmkidunya.com, ilmkidunya is also famous in Pakistan for student counselling activities, they arrange counselling lectures with notable personalities such as Javed Chaudhry, Bilal Qutab, Qasim Ali Shah, and other Pakistani students counselors.[2] ilmkidunya is for the Pakistani students and updated daily.[3] The site ilmkidunya is the project of SoftSolutions Pakistan, a leading website designing company in Pakistan. In 2011 PASHA awarded ilmkidunya as runner up in E-learning category.[4]

Services

ilmkidunya started in 2004 with the aim of providing educational information to the students via the internet. ilmkidunya provides a plethora of information about the educational system in Pakistan including educational news, examination date sheets and results,[5] career counselling for Pakistani students, admission notices, Pakistani colleges/universities directory with complete information. Every year academic information is updated on the website. ilmkidunya is also the pioneer who provides all the past papers to the Pakistani students which they require for their studies. Past papers are one of the most important resource for the students to prepare their exams. Superior University Job Fair 2012 was also covered by ilmkidunya and the site media section also covered lots of other events related to Pakistani Students like this.

Criticism

There are several features on the site which have received criticism. The biggest issue is the online chatting and games sections, people believe this is not relevant to the website and should be removed. They also have a student hostel section, but it is rarely updated and not very helpful.
