As of the census[1] of 2010, there were 3,358 people, 798 households, and 673 families residing in the city. The population density was 800.8 people per square mile (308.4/km²). There were 544 housing units at an average density of 320.8 per square mile (123.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 86.45% White, 9.06% African American, 0.15% Native American, 2.95% from other races, and 1.40% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 13.40% of the population.

There were 498 households out of which 42.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.8% were married couples living together, 18.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.9% were non-families. 22.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 2.98.

In the city the population was spread out with 29.2% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 17.9% from 45 to 64, and 17.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 80.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 75.5 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $31,971, and the median income for a family was $38,188. Males had a median income of $31,375 versus $23,125 for females. The per capita income for the city was $16,614. About 13.9% of families and 16.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 21.2% of those under age 18 and 16.8% of those age 65 or over.

The City of Grandview is served by the Grandview Independent School District.
