History

Emmanuel Middle School, which opened in 1988, has Church of England Voluntary Aided School status, with both St Michael and All Angels Church, Verwood and the Diocese of Salisbury contributing to the cost of the building. Due to the rapid expansion of Verwood, the school was extended in 1993, and again in 2005 and 2008, to give a capacity of 600 pupils. The headteacher is Mrs Jill Watson.

Emmanuel Middle School is one of the less than 400 remaining middle schools in England.
