Denmark is an unincorporated community in southwest portion of Marion Township, Owen County, Indiana, United States. It lies near the intersection of County Road 1400 West (aka Kelly Road) and County Road 150 South (aka Denmark Road), which is a community about fifteen miles west of the city of Spencer, the county seat of Owen County.[2] Its elevation is 722 feet (220 m), and it is located at 39°16′11″N 87°1′33″W / 39.26972°N 87.02583°W / 39.26972; -87.02583 (39.2697645 -87.0258445).[1]

History

Denmark was never officially platted.[3] A post office was established at Denmark in 1874, and remained in operation until 1906.[4] The community was probably named in tribute to Denmark, in Northern Europe.[5]
