The 2017 Minnesota United FC season will be the seventh season of Minnesota United FC's existence, and their first season in Major League Soccer, the top-tier of American soccer. United will be playing at TCF Bank Stadium and will be coached by Adrian Heath. Outside of MLS, it is expected that Minnesota United will also be participating in the 2017 U.S. Open Cup, as well as various preseason competitions.
This will be the first year since 1981 that a first-division American soccer team has played in Minnesota, since the Minnesota Kicks dissolved. Between that time the Minnesota Thunder and the NASL Minnesota United played in the second division.
