The 2016 SAFF Women's Championship will be an association football tournament for women's national teams organised by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). It is scheduled to be hosted by India from 26 December 2016 to 4 January 2017.[1]
This edition will be Afghanistan's last participation when Afghanistan left the SAFF.
Host selection
On 2 January 2016, SAFF executive committee made a decision that India would host the 2016 SAFF Women's Championship at a meeting held in Trivandrum, India.[2]
Venues
Siliguri will be the host of the tournament.
Teams
Afghanistan, a former SAFF member association still participates. From the current SAFF members Pakistan choose not to send a team.[3]
Fixtures and results
The draw was held on 17 November 2016 at the conference room of the Bangladesh Football Federation.[4] India and Nepal were predrawn at A1 and B1 respectively.
