Unidentified minerals are rare minerals obtained by mining rocks in the members area of the Mining Guild. They can be traded in for mining gloves, superior mining gloves, soft clay packs, and bags full of gems at Belona's Mining Guild Mineral Exchange. Players can also pay 60 minerals to combine both gloves into a pair of expert mining gloves.
When using an infernal pickaxe in the members area of the mining guild the Smithing effect will NOT negate the ability to receive unidentified minerals upon its proc.
At current Grand Exchange prices, the item that is worth the most coins per mineral spent is a bag full of gems, worth 1,503.65 per unidentified mineral.
Obtaining[edit | edit source]
The chances of obtaining one are dependent on the rock they are obtained from:[1]
Rock | Chance |
---|---|
Iron rocks | 1/100 |
Coal rocks | 1/60 |
Mithril rocks | 1/40 |
Adamantite rocks | 1/30 |
Runite rocks | 1/20 |
Amethyst crystals | 1/20 |
When wearing a Varrock armour and mining any rock in the Members Area of the Mining Guild which your current level of Varrock platebody has a chance of duplicating, the effect, when triggered, gives each ore its own roll for Unidentified Minerals. It is possible to obtain Unidentified Minerals for both ores.
You can also stop receiving unidentified minerals by speaking to Belona and choosing the "I don't want to receive minerals." option and can start receiving them by talking to her again and choosing the "I would like to receive minerals." option.
