A Trouver parchment is a consumable scroll purchased from Justine's stuff for the Last Shopper Standing for 30 Last Man Standing points. Upon reading it, the chatbox message states This is a powerful scroll. Perdu, the dwarf, can use it to help lock certain items to their owners, so that the items aren't destroyed on death in deep Wilderness.

By bringing certain untradeable items and a Trouver parchment to Perdu, he will lock the item to the player, giving it an additional (l) suffix added to its name (ex. Fire cape (l)); he will charge an additional 500,000 coins (50,000 coins for bronze to adamant defenders) to perform this locking service. Multiple items can be locked simultaneously, but will require additional Trouver parchments for each item the player wishes to lock.

Once an item is locked, it will be kept in its unbroken state upon dying with the locked item above level 20 Wilderness, but its locked status will be lost. The imbue status will also be lost if the player dies below 20 wilderness, even if it is an item which normally would be kept in a broken state. In order to lock it once more, the parchment and the locking fee must be given to Perdu once more. For the killer, the full cost for locking the item is dropped as loot, based on the cost paid by the player that died.

If a locked item is removed from the game (ex. dropping an item in an instance and leaving), the item will still retain its locked status when it is re-obtained.

Lastly, players also can remove the lock status on an item by using it on Perdu, in which he will return the Trouver parchment as well as 95% of the locking fee.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • "Trouver" is French for the word "find". Along with Perdu, whose name means "lost" in French, the names are a play on the phrase "lost and found".
