Silvarea is a small area that separates Varrock and Morytania, consisting of a path and two mountain ranges that surround it on both sides. It's situated north of the Digsite and slightly north-east of Varrock, east of the Saradomin statue and on the other side of a gate.
Despite being the name of the actual area, Silvarea has become somewhat synonymous with Paterdomus, the Saradominist temple that dominates its eastern side.
History[edit | edit source]
The area played a major role in the 100 Years War during the Fourth Age, where Lord Lowerniel Vergidiyad Drakan attempted to conquer Misthalin from the then sparse human settlements that existed in the area, the largest being Avarrocka (now Varrock) in the north. After 100 years of conflict, the Seven Priestly Warriors emerged and, ultimately, pushed the hordes of Morytania away from Misthalin and behind the River Salve.
After this victory, they blessed the river in the name of Saradomin, this blessing acting as a defensive barrier against the inhabitants of Morytania, ensuring they would never cross it. Paterdomus temple was built at the edge of Silvarea and the River Salve after the end of the war, honouring the seven.
