The enchanted lyre is acquired in The Fremennik Trials quest. It is used in the quest to perform in the longhall to get Olaf the Bard's vote for the player to become a Fremennik. The lyre can be made by using an axe to cut a branch from the swaying tree east of Rellekka, and then using a knife on the branch to obtain an unstrung lyre, then attaching spun golden fleece. This part needs 25 Fletching. Alternatively, players may receive one as a drop from Lanzig, Borrokar or Freidir in their huts in the south-eastern area of the village.

After the quest, the player can enchant their normal lyre into an enchanted lyre by charging it with Fossegrimen to be used as a teleport to Rellekka. When the hard Fremennik Diary is completed, the enchanted lyre can also teleport to Waterbirth Island, and gains the ability to teleport to Jatizso and Neitiznot after completion of the elite Fremennik Diary.
Upon imbuing the lyre, the bridge turns grey in colour. Upon trimming the music cape for the first time, the bridge turns black in colour.

Charging[edit | edit source]
The lyre is enchanted by offering raw large fish to Fossegrimen's altar south-west of Rellekka. Players may offer a raw shark, raw manta ray, or raw sea turtle to receive two, three, or four charges, respectively. If players equip a ring of charos (a), they can give Fossegrimen a raw bass and explain that it is really a small shark, and she will recharge the lyre with two charges. Upon expending the last charge, the lyre will revert to its unenchanted form. Players can only charge an unenchanted lyre.
When the easy Fremennik Diary is completed, Fossegrimen will give an extra charge in addition to the offering given.

Imbuing[edit | edit source]
After completion of The Fremennik Trials, players can imbue their lyre into an enchanted lyre(i), which contains infinite charges, by offering Fossegrimen a one-off offering of 1,000 raw sharks, raw bass, raw manta rays and raw sea turtles, costing 2,314,000. Fossegrimen will accept both noted and un-noted offerings, and they can be given in increments; she will inform players of the remaining amount required to imbue the lyre.
The offering cost will drop by 200 raw fish of each type for each tier of the Fremennik Diary completed. However, she will not return any fish once a higher tier of the diary has been completed.
If lost, it can be re-obtained by going to the Fossegrimen and clicking "Summon" on the altar with a Lyre in your inventory. You do not have to pay the 1,000 of each fish cost if you have already paid it once before.
Diary Tier | Raw fish | Total GE cost |
---|---|---|
None | 1000 | 2,314,000 |

Medium | 600 | 1,388,400 |

30 May 2019 (update | poll) |
After completing The Fremennik Trials, you may now enchant your Lyre from Fossegrimen for permanent lyre teleports for 1,000 Raw Sea Turtles, Raw Manta Rays, Raw Sharks and Raw Bass. This drops by 200 for each Fremennik diary completed, however, she will not return any fish once you've completed a higher tier of the diary. Fossegrimen will accept noted and un-noted versions of the raw fish and will inform you of how many pieces of fish you still need to give her in order to unlock the Infinite Lyre Teleport. |
