Draynor Village is a small village located between Falador and Lumbridge. Draynor Village is under the administration of Varrock, due to the fact that it is part of the kingdom of Misthalin. Draynor Village offers a popular willow Woodcutting spot just south of the bank, stalls, and a master farmer to steal from.
Places of interest[edit | edit source]
Northeastern section and Rooftop Course[edit | edit source]
The northeastern part of the village features several houses, with several residents who play a role in quests or run shops.
- Morgan lives in the middle house on the eastern side of the village, slightly northeast of Aggie the Witch's house. Upstairs in his house, he stores a clove of garlic which can be taken from the cupboards.
- Aggie the Witch lives in the westernmost house, and runs a dye shop. Players can buy dye from her provided they bring the requisite ingredients and pay her with coins. Her house also features spawns of a tomato and cheese.
- Ned lives in the southeasternmost house in the village, with his front door facing the village's jail. Players can trade him 4 balls of wool or pay him 15 coins for a coil of rope.
- The slayer master Spria has a house in Draynor just north of the old Man's house.
This section also features the Draynor Village Rooftop Course, which requires level 10 agility to traverse. This course runs all the way around these houses, starting at the northeasternmost house, and ending at Ned's house in the southeast.
Marketplace[edit | edit source]
The Draynor Village marketplace hosts three shops: Diango's Toy Store, Olivia's Seed Market and Fortunato's Fine Wine. With these shops, the marketplace features two thievable seed stalls and one thievable wine stall. These stalls are guarded by a pair of market guards, who attack players who attempt to steal from any of the market stalls, or players who talk to any stall owners just after thieving from their stalls.
In order to maximise the amount of stalls that can be thieved per hour, it is recommended to trap the two market guards in the Wise Old Man's house. This can be done by attacking them, then walking into the Old Man's house, and closing the door behind the guard. Players can walk up the stairs in order to remove aggression from the market guard afterwards. This can then be repeated for the second guard, keeping in mind that NPCs cannot walk through players, as long as no other players or NPCs stood inside the player before. This can be used to body block the first trapped guard while trapping the second guard. Using this method, players can expect much higher experience rates at the stalls in the marketplace.
The Wise Old Man's house[edit | edit source]
The Wise Old Man lives just across the street from the village's bank. He provides several services, such as checking your bank for leftover quest junk and sending players on small tasks for experience or item rewards. Upstairs in his house, he has a thing under his bed which he may request players to kill during these tasks.
There are several clues in his house that point towards him plotting to do something at the Wizards' Tower, such as his telescope pointing towards it. He also has strange books on the shelves, as well as large quantity of tinderboxes.
Draynor Sewers[edit | edit source]
The Draynor Sewers are a small underground area below the village, with two entrances. The first entrance can be found just northwest of Aggie the Witch's house, and the other is inside the Draynor Jail's compounds. Several zombies and skeletons inhabit this dungeon, with the former being featured in the easy Lumbridge & Draynor Diary, requiring the player to kill one in this location.
It also features an anvil, as well as a permanent fire, in a small chamber in the sewers. In this chamber, a weakened vampyre called Ruantun can be found, who plays a small role in the Desert Treasure quest.
Bank[edit | edit source]
The Draynor Village bank has a unique history, which is evident from the patched hole in the northwest corner of the building. Right beside the patched hole, a guard can be found sitting in a tree, as well as one standing beside the tree. These guards are placed there due to the robbery that took place in this bank. The guard in the tree offers to buy stew from players in exchange for some coins.
The bank also is one of the most popular locations for free-to-play players banking their willow logs, chopped from the trees just southwest of the bank. Note that this bank may not always be safe for players under level 14 combat, due to the fact it is possible to lure a level 7 dark wizard into the bank, who is aggressive to any players that are not more than twice his combat level.
Jail[edit | edit source]
On the east side of the village, Lady Keli runs a small jail, patrolled by several aggressive Jail guards. This is a multi-combat area, which makes this a very dangerous place for beginning players. Approaching from the east normally allows a quicker entry to the jail, with less exposure to the guards. This jail is mainly featured in the Prince Ali Rescue quest, where the player has to rescue the Al Kharid prince from this jail with the help of Leela, who is standing just northwest of the jail.
Diango's Workshop[edit | edit source]
Diango's Workshop is where much of the 2014 Christmas event took place, and where players can go to get replacement marionettes. The workshop is located beneath a trapdoor in the northwest-most house in Draynor Village, although players will not be able to enter the workshop unless an active event is taking place there. Attempting to enter will cause your character to say "There are no lights on downstairs in the basement, the pixies must have moved on. I hope I see them again." Players who have lost hats and scarves or yo-yos can talk to Diango to have them returned. The 2013 Halloween event also took place in Diango's Workshop, when players were rewarded with the Skeleton Costume and Jack lantern mask.
Skilling[edit | edit source]
Located just south of the bank, five willows grow in close proximity of eachother, making this a very popular woodcutting location for free-to-play players. With the clear space just east of the trees, this is also a popular firemaking location for ironmen.
In between these trees, two level 7 aggressive dark wizards roam, attacking any players under level 14 combat. It is not advised to train woodcutting here with a lower combat, but these wizards can be killed to obtain runes, talismans or a black robe.
