Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale stanowi połączenie elementów gier akcji z RPG. Mechanika gry opiera się na zasadach czwartej edycji systemu Dungeons & Dragons. Warto dodać, że jest to tytuł rozprowadzany wyłącznie drogą dystrybucji cyfrowej.
Głównym zadaniem gracza jest odparcie natarcia Zhentarimów dowodzonych przez niejakiego Rezlusa. Wrogie siły zamierzają zaatakować znajdujące się w Zapomnianych Krainach miasto Dalelands, którego mieszkańcy żyli wcześniej we względnym spokoju. Nasi bohaterowie w trakcie przygody odkrywają sekrety Kopalń Tethyru i pokonują zło zamieszkujące Wieżę Pustki, by ostatecznie rozprawić się z samym Rezlusem.
Dość tradycyjna fabuła stanowi tylko tło dla zabawy, w trakcie której zmierzymy się z setkami przeciwników, rozwijając w międzyczasie współczynniki swojej postaci. Autorzy postarali się, aby system walki nie był zbyt skomplikowany – jest przystępny i łatwy do opanowania.
Dużym atutem produkcji jest tryb kooperacji przeznaczony maksymalnie dla czterech osób. Mogą one wspólnie przemierzać lochy ścierając się z potworami i zbierając pozostawione przez nie skarby. W ten sposób zabawa staje się jeszcze bardziej wciągająca niż w pojedynkę.
