Nine Inch Nails (ang. dziewięciocalowe gwoździe) - amerykański projekt muzyczny grający rocka industrialnego, założony przez Trenta Reznora w 1988 w Cleveland.
W latach 90. grupa działała w Los Angeles (tam zostały nagrane Broken EP z 1992 i album The Downward Spiral z 1994), w drugiej połowie lat 90. na pewien czas przeniosła się do Nowego Orleanu (gdzie została nagrana płyta The Fragile z 1999), jednak w 2005 powróciła do Los Angeles.
Oficjalnie w skład Nine Inch Nails wchodzi jedynie Trent Reznor, który sam komponuje i jako multi-instrumentalista sam nagrywa cały materiał w studio, zaś pozostali członkowie występują jedynie podczas tras koncertowych.
Czasem jednak Reznor zaprasza do współpracy podczas sesji nagraniowych innych muzyków - czy to wchodzących w szeroki skład Nine Inch Nails (jak np. Danny Lohner, Charlie Clouser, Chris Vrenna, którzy również współkomponowali kilka utworów zespołu) czy też spoza zespołu (np. Dave Grohl, Dave Navarro, Richard James).
Trent Reznor kierując Nine Inch Nails wywarł duży wpływ na współczesnych wykonawców muzyki alternatywnej. Jako muzyk cieszący się dużym autorytetem i uznaniem, pomógł m.in. w wypromowaniu grupy Marilyn Manson.
Nine Inch Nails wraz z Ministry przyczynili się do popularyzacji muzyki industrialnej, nadając jej metalowy charakter.

"March of the Pigs" has one of the most unusual metres of any song to enjoy popular radio play, alternating three bars of 7/8 time with one bar of 4/4 time (in effect, a 29/8 time signature). The song has a BPM rate of 269.
A music video was made for this song, directed by Peter Christopherson and released in March 1994. The video features the band performing the song live in front of a white wall backdrop. This video was the last video to be played on MTV2's Increase the Beat, on Memorial Day weekend 2002. At 269 BPM, it had the fastest tempo of the 400+ videos that were played that weekend.
A previous version of the video was partially shot but abandoned, and portions are included on the Closure DVD. The band performs the song in a red cave-like set with water at their feet, and a midget appears.
Being a staple NIN song with its high energy segued by two piano breakdowns, there is a live performance video of "March of the Pigs" on each of their live releases: Closure, And All that Could Have Been, and Beside You in Time.
