Najbardziej znany jako frontman Primusa Claypool jest (lub byłą) siłą napędową min.: Oysterhead (gdzie towarzyszą mu Trey Anastasio na gitarze (Phish) i Stewart Copeland - perkusista The Police), Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains, Frog Brigade, Sausage, Holy Mackerel i C2B3.


DVD zawiera także mnóstwo dodatków - min. koncertowych nagrań "zza sceny" oraz dwa kompletne odcinki wędkarskiego show "Fly Fishing The World" z udziałem Claypoola (jest wielkim fanem tego sportu).

"5 Gallons of Diesel'' is a comprehensive sampling of visual elements associated with the ever evolving and always eclectic world of bassist/singer/songwriter Les Claypool. Best known as the front man/mastermind of alt-rockers Primus, Claypool has always kept his hands busy outside of Primus. This 3.5 hour DVD includes live performances and videos from such band projects as Oysterhead featuring Trey Anastasio (Phish) and Stewart Copeland (The Police), Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains featuring Buckethead (Guns N' Roses), Bernie Worrell (Parliament-Funkadelic, Talking Heads), and Brain (Primus, Tom Waits, Guns N' Roses), Frog Brigade featuring Jeff Chimenti (Ratdog, The Dead) and Skerik (Garage A Trois, Critters BuggIn'), and a one-off award show featuring Jay Lane (Rat Dog, Charlie Hunter) and upright bassist Rob Wasserman (Elvis Costello, Lou Reed). Special guests Jimmy Herring (Phil Lesh, Allman Brothers) and Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers, The Dead, Gov't Mule) also make appearances.

Also included are behind the scenes footage and extras such as two complete episodes of the Outdoor Life Network celebrity fishing show "Fly Fishing The World'' featuring Claypool. The Sausage video for Riddles Are Abound Tonight was widely seen on MTV in the mid 90's and was featured on and actually inspired an episode ('The Great Cornholio'') of the hit show Beavis And Butthead. The Oysterhead performance of Shadow OF A Man (originally from HBO's Reverb series) is the first commercially available video material from this band.
