Album ten jest bardzo dobrze nagrany z potężnym, nie przesłodzonym brzmieniem, stanowiącym rzadkość na scenie BM. Wciąż bardzo przesycony klawiszami jest jednak bardziej ukierunkowany w stronę gitar, co można odczuć słuchając wspaniałych , zapadających w pamięci riffów. Oto co sądzę o każdym z utworów. "Ebony Dressed for Sunset" - krótki, wyraĽnie zaznaczone intro i sam utwór, dobrze otwiera płytę. "The Forest..." - na nowo nagrany i zremiksowany kawałek z poprzedniej płyty, dodano kobiece wokale, całość w/g mnie lepsza od oryginału. "Queen of..." - zaczyna się wyciem wilków z "Dream of Wolves in the Snow" (tekst z Bram Stoker's Dracula),zrożnicowany i bardzo interesujący 10 min. utwor osnuwa słuchacza tajemniczą, romantyczną atmosferą, dla mnie najlepszy na płycie. "Nocturnal..." - szybki, ale nie jednostajny kawałek, poetyskim tekstem. "She Mourns..." - instrumentalny (3min. 42 sek.), zagrany na klawiszach ma bardzo klasyczny chrakter, pasowałby na ścieżkę dzwiękową horroru. "The rape..." - podobny do "Nocturnal...", lecz ma więcej kobiecych wokali i melodii na klawiszach. (astercity.net/~liwani)

Out of the entire Cradle Of Filth catalog of music this album (VEMPIRE)is definitely one of My personal favorites and a C.O.F. classic among Fans.This album absolutely drips haunting atmosphere and is probably one of the bands heaviest releases to date.I read a review that stated this album was like "Principles Of Evil Made Flesh on Steroids!" and I couldn't agree more!!VEMPIRE is everything that a Cradle Of Filth fan could possibly ever want but more!! The production on this album is fantastic and the musicianship is some of Cradle's BEST work EVER!! This album has spawned many classics, such as: Track #1 "Ebony Dressed For Sunset", Track #2 "The Forest Whispers My Name", Track #3 "Queen Of Winter Throned"(A true Epic and one of My favorite Cradle songs EVER!!), and Track #6 "The Rape and Ruin of Angels (Hosannas in Extremis)".Over the years this album has become harder and harder to find so if Your seriously thinking about picking this one up ...Don't Hesitate!!! You will NOT be dissapointed!!For new fans familiar with C.O.F.'s more recent releases (ie; "Nymphetamine","Damnation And A Day", and "Midian") This album is MUCH heavier and a whole lot FASTER!! It really shows what C.O.F. can do when they let loose,and You often find yourself hitting the repeat button when listening to this album! The cover art alone stands out to be one of Cradle's best, but the tracks on the disc are outstanding and VERY WELL thought out as far as musically and lyrically (just look at some of the song titles, for example: track #5 "She Mourns A Lengthening Shadow") what a great song title!!!I HIGHLY recommend this album to ANY C.O.F. fan both old or new! If Your a fan of Thrash,Death, or Black Metal this is an EXCELLENT purchase and is getting VERY hard to find.If You love Cradle's music this is one album You MUST not miss out on!
