Sniper to francuska grupa hip-hopowa złożona z czterech synów imigrantów z przedmieść Paryża. El Tunisiano (ur. Bachir Baccour, Tunezyjczyk), Aketo (ur. Ryad Selmi, Algierczyk) z Deuil-la-Barre, Black Renega (ur. Karl Appela, z wyspy Reunion) z Montfermeil oraz DJ Boudj (Algierczyk) z Saint-Denis. Grupa powstała w 1997 roku pod nazwą Personnalité Suspecte, ale zmieniła nazwę i w 2001 roku wypuściła swój pierwszy album "Du rire aux larmes". Ich drugi album "Gravé dans la roche" został wydany w 2003, a w 2006 roku Sniper wydali swój trzeci album "Trait pour trait".

Wiele kawałków dotyka tematów politycznych, jak np. izraelska okupacja Palestyny w kawałku "Jeteur de pierres" lub poczucie niesprawiedliwości we francuskim systemie politycznym w kawałku "La France". Sniper is a French hip hop group composed of four sons of immigrants from the suburbs of Paris: El Tunisiano (born Bachir Baccour, of Tunisian origin) and Aketo (born Ryad Selmi, of Algerian origin) from Deuil-la-Barre, Black Renega (born Karl Appela, of reunionnais origin) from Montfermeil, and DJ Boudj (of Algeria origin) from Saint-Denis. The group was formed in 1997 under the name Personnalité Suspecte, but changed its name later, and released its first album, "Du rire aux larmes", in 2001. Their second album, "Gravé dans la roche", was released in 2003. In 2006, Sniper released their third album, "Trait pour trait".

Many of the group's songs handle political themes, such as the Israeli occupation of Palestine in "Jeteur de pierres" and a perceived injustice in the French political system in "La France". This, combined with the group's at times vulgar way of expressing this, incited the French Minister of the Interior Nicolas Sarkozy to attack the group in November 2003 for the lyrics which he considered 'violent, racist and abusive'.
