Solar Fields jest solowym projektem Magnusa Birgerssona. Jest on muzykiem nieokreślonym wokół jednego gatunku elektroniki. Cała jego pasja każdym dźwiękiem przelewana jest na twórczość, dzięki czemu można go spotkać w wielu różnych dźwiękowych wcieleniach. W swoim życiu wiele poświęcił muzyce, sprawdzał się grając na gitarze, samplując, pracując na komputerze, czy automatach perkusyjnych. Krótko opisując jest kompozytorem rozmaitych brzmień.

Jego styl jak już pisałem nie jest jasno określony. Można go spotkać w soczystych transowych i melodyjnych kompozycjach, później w padowych zawieszających długich lotach, a jeszcze kiedy indziej eksperymentującego z rozmaitymi wytworami instrumentów elektronicznych sterowanymi niezwykle otwartym umysłem. Jako Solar Fields znany jest z szeroko rozumianego stylu ambient, jednak w swojej historii miał np. przygotowywanie (razem z duetem Carbon Based Lifeforms) tła muzycznego dla przedstawienia "Fusion" szwedzkiego tancerza Olofa Perssona.

Solar Fields ma na koncie cztery albumy dla francuskiego labela Ultimae. Z Vincentem Villuisem aka Aes Dana stworzył internetową grupę H.U.V.A. Network, która także ma album dla Ultimae. Grupa ta jest internetowa, gdyż Magnus na stałe mieszka w Szwecji, a Vincent we Francji. W swojej historii zagrał także wiele koncertów na rozmaitych imprezach i open airach zarówno jako akt transowy, jak też ambientowy. Gościł on m.in. we Francji, Kanadzie (Om festival), Portugalii (Boom), czy Szwajcarii.

Graphic and sound designer, Magnus Birgersson, delivers a complete masterpiece in 14 movements, where trance flirts with industrial, and trip-hop with noise. It is not so much the richness of the sounds that strikes the ear, rather, the talent with which it is all orchestrated. This fine alchemy distills dense ambient music with a constant, ever-changing structure, at times cold and mechanic, and at others warm and soothing.
