Description:Resident chill maestro Phil Mison dished up the sand-in-your-hair savvy Soundcolors 3 last season, and certainly you'd be hard pressed to name a compilation that put the sounds of balearic life on plastic any better. Moving on to other projects meant a passing of the vinyl was in order, placing Richard Moonboots solidly at the DJ helm. Soundcolors 4 effortlessly follows the languid, sun-kissed perspective of it's predecessor. Su Paka Pooh's "Kurage" absolutely radiates, layering piano melodies, fluid soft percussion and a lilting vocal throughout. Equally sublime yet packing more pronounced drums, Project 7's "Eclipse" follows right behind. Moonboot shows exquisite taste with a designed perspective as the completely instrumental set (minus Shuggie Otis) seduces via acoustic guitar (Mettle Music "Swell") or floating horns (Antonio "Agua De Coco Bien Dulce"). Far, far removed from the mass marketed Ibiza business, Soundcolors 4 drops the set you'd want to hear as the set-up for another late night. It's darn near a perfect sequel for the collection. More please.
