Today's version is more like, "It's 3 p.m. Are you holding your 12-year-old's hand?" as people have become less tolerant of kids ever being unsupervised by adults. But maybe, finally, the pendulum is swinging back toward sanity. That's the case in South Carolina, which is considering a "free-range parenting" bill. According to the Greenville News, the bill would protect parents from abuse or neglect charges for allowing children of "sufficient age or maturity" to be unattended. That includes activities such as playing outside and walking or biking to school without supervision. Parents are able to use their discretion on what "sufficient" means for their children. The measure won approval in the Senate Judiciary Committee last month. It will now move to the Senate floor for consideration.

Last Thursday, Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt signed a bill into law that formalizes and expands the state's medical marijuana program, further nullifying federal cannabis prohibition in effect. Last summer, Oklahoma voters approved a measure legalizing medical marijuana in the state. A coalition of three Republicans introduced House Bill 2612 (HB2612) on Feb. 4 to create a regulatory structure and establish important patient protections for the state medicinal cannabis program. The Oklahoma House passed HB2612 by a 93-5 vote. The Senate approved the measure 43-5. With Gov. Stitt's signature, the bill will take effect 90 days after the legislature adjourns. The new law creates the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority and establishes a registry for qualified patients and their caregivers. It also creates a revolving fund to handle fees, taxes and fines related to the medical marijuana program.

Now it's showing a little bit of city-friendly European camper van sensibility with the Sequence concept, a loaded Ram ProMaster adventure van with solar power, mobile connectivity, sporty Thule accessories and even a slide-out dog bowl. Class A motorhomes and large travel trailers continue to rule American campgrounds, but smaller camping vehicles have started to carve out more of a niche in the market. Millennials have become a driving market force and have shown a preference for smaller campers, while retiring baby boomers are moving away from large family campers and downsizing to smaller options. At the same time, the RV industry is trying to reach a new generation of buyers that enjoy outdoor recreation and other compatible leisure activities but aren't yet using an RV to access them. Jordan Peterson, the University of Toronto psychologist known for criticizing political correctness, announced Monday that he would be a visiting fellow at the University of Cambridge's divinity school. But on Wednesday, Cambridge's administration announced that they had rescinded the invitation following a public outcry from students and professors. "[Cambridge] is an inclusive environment and we expect all our staff and visitors to uphold our principles," a Cambridge spokesperson told The Guardian. "There is no place here for anyone who cannot." Peterson holds some views that are considered offensive by progressives—he has objected, for instance, to the idea that anyone should be required to use a trans person's preferred pronouns. The implication of Cambridge's statement, then, is that anyone who disagrees with the university's left-of-center commitments on these issues is unwelcome on campus.

Authored by Michael Snyder via The End of The American Dream blog, Last week, when a deranged lunatic gunned down dozens of Muslims at two mosques in New Zealand it suddenly became the biggest news story in the world, and rightly so.  It was a major news event, and it needed to be reported.  But shouldn't mass killings of Christians be given the same sort of media coverage?  Sadly, we all know that doesn't happen.  Whenever there is a mass killing of Christians, it is usually entirely ignored by the mainstream media in the United States, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out why this is happening.  Those that control the mainstream media consider Christians to be one of the main obstacles to "progress" in this country, and so any story that would put Christians in a positive or sympathetic light simply does not fit any of the narratives that they are pushing. As a result of the lack of media coverage, the vas

"The microwave decides you should be on a diet and won't let you eat popcorn," says Amy Webb, a professor of strategic foresight at the NYU Stern School of Business and the founder of the consulting firm Future Today Institute. "The washer decides you can get another day out of those jeans. Your garage decides you should walk to work." Webb, who authors a report called Emerging Tech Trends every year, believes that a series of trends are converging on a vaguely dystopian scenario: "Your smart home is a smart prison and there is no escape," she described at the South by South West conference in Austin earlier this month. "You can unplug your microwave, but you can't unplug your whole family from the system." That means that your life will become even more dependent on

Current law already takes a step toward shutting a loophole that would allow state and local police to circumvent the more stringent state asset forfeiture process by passing cases off to the feds. Sen Bart Hester (R-Cave Springs) introduced Senate Bill 308 (SB308) on Feb. 12. The new law specifically ends civil asset forfeiture in most Arkansas cases and replaces it with a criminal procedure. Under the law, prosecutors cannot proceed with forfeiture without a criminal conviction in all but a handful of cases. There shall be no civil judgment under this subchapter and no property shall be forfeited unless the person from whom the property is seized is convicted of a felony offense that related to the property being seized and that permits the forfeiture of the property. The Institute for Justice gave Arkansas asset forfeiture laws a D- grade, calling them "awful."

The organizers, Trent Lira and Devin Will, penned the letter, claiming that anti-LGBT groups had been threatening library employees and participants in the story time. Albert Garza, a 32-year-old registered sex offender, participated in the program under the name Tatiana Mala-Niña, according to the conservative anti-LGBTQ group, MassResistance. That happened before the Houston Public Library started performing background checks on readers. Their long letter consists mainly of them whining about how they're the real victims in this situation and not the children their grooming.

He expressed certainty that the way the Jewish authorities put on hold their once promised immigration to Israel is due to a deliberate policy of exclusion of Ethiopian Jews. Over the past three decades, Israeli governments permitted the African-based community's resettlement on Israeli soil, given that there is consent to this end from their Ethiopian counterparts. It's a collection of statements from the speeches and writings of Mao Zedong, the founder of the People's Republic of China. Mao, who once said that "to read too many books is harmful," had more than one billion copies of this single book printed and distributed. Its purpose was to force people to internalize Mao's ideals. This elevated him to the status of deity within China. The book remained an icon of Mao Zedong's cult of personality and a mainstay in Chinese culture through the '70s. As a result, an entire generation of Chinese have grown up not knowing anything better than what the Party has to offer them.

I read an article on CNN that was incredibly sad. Instead, she found dozens of hateful comments: You're a terrible mother. You killed your child. You deserved what happened to your son. This is all fake – your child doesn't exist…The attacks were from those who oppose vaccination… (source) Honestly, from the bottom of my heart, it's repugnant. No matter who is doing it, they should be ashamed of themselves. It's on the same level as Westboro Baptist Church members picketing the funerals of soldiers. The article goes on to say that this is a frequent occurrence, and in fact, planned as a tactic by "anti-vaxxers."

  • Understanding Israel's deception regarding citizenship vs. Jewish nationality

This issue most recently came up in the spat between Israeli celebrity Rotem Sela who asked, "when will anyone in this government tell the public that this is a state of all its citizens," to which Prime Minister Netanyahu replied it wasn't, and said that it was a nation state of Jews alone. This was then further confused when Netanyahu also claimed that all Israeli citizens have equal rights. What's going on here? Is Israel a state of all of its citizens, and do citizens have equal rights? In short, I would say that Netanyahu was right about the state not being a state of all its citizens, and wrong about all citizens having equal rights. But it's more complex than that. Israel uses this dual construct of citizenship and nationality to confuse and even downright deceive the international community – indeed even its own citizens. It is my impression that many Israelis don't even understand this fully.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to visit President Trump in the White House next week.  This comes just two weeks before Israel's elections, where the Prime Minister is in a contentious re-election bid that is said to be an extremely tight race.  The two leaders will discuss United States recognition of the Golan Heights as well as a host of security issues, as tensions with Gaza flare up. The Prime Minister has come under investigation by Israel's Attorney General for a series of bribery and corruption charges.  It was announced by the Attorney General in late February that Netanyahu would be indicted, the first time in Israeli history that a sitting Prime Minister has been indicted.  Netanyahu may be facing another corruption investigation in the coming weeks.  He has called the investigation a "witch hunt" and maintained his innocence.

It is one of over 100 compounds found in cannabis sativa plants that belong to a class of ingredients called cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are a diverse set of chemical compounds that bind to special receptors in the human body that make up what is known as the endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is a biological system which plays many important roles in the human body. It is responsible for the physical and psychological effects of cannabis. From the moment Donald Trump stepped into the Oval Office, he has acted deliberately to restrict the number of immigrants coming to the United States. His administration has not only been cracking down on unauthorized entry to the country but also closing off legal avenues for immigration. It initially curtailed admission from Muslim countries and slashed refugees. Now it has turned its attention to family and skills-based categories—without any new congressional authorization. Trump's first major policy initiative to restrict immigration—the so-called Muslim travel ban—came within months of taking office. He had called for "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States" during the presidential campaign but then bowed to political reality and narrowed the ban to "merely" five majority-Muslim countries (Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen).
