The story is about Sailor (Nicolas Cage) and Lula (Laura Dern) who are on a road trip after Sailor is released from prison. It drives Lula's mother (Ladd) crazy to know that her daughter is with Sailor and therefor she hires some guys to kill him. We see Isabella Rossellini, Harry Dean Stanton, Crispin Glover, J.E. Freeman and Willem Dafoe as supporting characters and they seem to be even more crazy than the mother of Lula.
