Album zostal wydany nakladem francuskiej wytworni Naive.

Description: When not working as one half of the production team of Deep Forest, Michel Sanchez composes eclectic worldbeat soundscapes drawn from all corners of the planet. His musical pieces often sound like flipping through radio stations from high above the Earth or a soundtrack to a film that has never been produced. Sanchez' first solo work was Windows, released in 1998, followed by Hieroglyphes in 2000.

Michel Sanchez, who also gave us the infectious "Deep Forest" albums, is a master talent. His previous solo outing, "Windows," was one of my favorite albums of 1998, so I couldn't wait to get my ears on this new release. Believe it or not, this new record, "Hieroglyphs," makes the wild and wonderful "Windows" seem almost tame by comparison. Think of what might happen if there were a collaborative effort among Weather Report, New York Voices, Cirque du Soleil, and Rob Mounsey's Flying Monkey Orchestra -- all pumped up on steroids -- and you begin to get the idea. Sanchez, with his amazing ability to mesh various musical styles and vivid tone colors (not to mention his impeccable keyboard virtuosity), will turn your ear every which way but loose! While "Deep Forest" fans may or may not be able to keep up, Sanchez definitely runs ahead of the pack on this one!
-------------------------------
I haven't had such fun from a jazz (or jazzy) album since i heard "Adventures in Radioland" by Mahavishnu. Unfortunately at that time John McLaughlin didn't continue the "adventures" path of experiment. Now you can here this mix of jazz, arabic, spanish and god knows what other elements and enjoy the professional and really creative work of Sanchez. It's not a commercial-folk records, it's pure inspitration. I Strongly reccomend it to anyone who thinks music is dead...
