Creed - amerykański zespół postgrunge, działający w latach 1997-2004, w którego skład wchodzili Scott Stapp (wokal), Mark Tremonti (gitara), Scott Phillips (bębny), Brian Marshall (bas). Creed wydał 3 albumy - "My Own Prison", "Human Clay" i "Weathered", odnosząc wielki sukces komercyjny w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Po rozpadzie grupy członkowie zaangażowali się w realizację projektów solowych (Scott Stapp) lub kontynuowali działalność muzyczną w innych zespołach (Alter Bridge - Scott Phillips, Mark Tremonti i Brain Marshall).W roku 2004 instrumentaliści Creed wydali swoją pierwszą płytę pod szyldem nowego zespołu album "One Days Remains" został bardzo ciepło przyjęty przez fanów, w roku kolejnym Creed wydał składankę "Greatest Hits" z największymi przebojami grupy zaś Scott Stapp wydał album "Great Divide" (pl.wikipedia.org)

Originally released on the band's own label, Creed's debut album, My Own Prison, was re-released on Wind-Up Records in a remixed form. The remix was designed to accentuate the group's powerful post-grunge sound so it could find a crossover audience. Evidently, the gambit was successful since the album became a platinum hit shortly after the title track was issued as a single. Creed don't have an original or distinctive sound -- they basically fall into the category of post-Seattle bands who temper their grunge with a dose of Live earnestness -- but they work well within their boundaries. At their best, they are a solid post-grunge band, grinding their riffs out with muscle; at their worst, they are simply faceless.
