Yudh is an Indian television psychological thriller miniseries directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, starring Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role.[1][2] It also stars Sarika, Zakir Hussain, Mona Wasu, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kay Kay Menon.[1] This show is Bachchan's debut fiction television show .[1][3] Produced by Endemol India and Saraswati Creations, Yudh premiered on Sony Entertainment Television India on 14 July 2014.[1] It was replaced by Indian idol


Plot

Yudhisthir Sikarwar (Amitabh Bachchan) is an elite businessman who owns a conglomerate company known as the Shanti Group which consists of Shanti Constructions and Shanti Mining in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He wishes to venture into the mining industry but he is diagnosed with Huntington's disease, an incurable neuropsychological disorder, which leaves him with a few years to live.

DNA India stated the plot is similar to the American TV series Boss.[4]

Reception

DNA India praised the light use of background music, the casting and the unobtrusive camera work, but stated the production values were lacking for a project where each episode costs an estimated 3 crores stating that the sets were "tacky" and the sound quality was poor .[6]

Juhi Chawla expressed disappointment with Mr.Bachchan's character in the TV series and described it as "dull" [7]
