wi-tribe is an internet services provider operating in Pakistan.

History

Established in April 2007, wi-tribe delivers internet services to consumers in Pakistan.[2]

Jordan

In 2008, operations were launched in Jordan, expanding to several cities across the kingdom. On 16 October 2012 the company cancelled its operations in Jordan due to a sudden increase of electricity fees and taxes imposed by the government.[2]

Pakistan

In 2009, wi-tribe group launched its largest operations in Pakistan. In Pakistan, wi-Tribe is operating in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad.[3][4][5] Wi-tribe Pakistan is an ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) approved employer, and it is one of the only two telecom companies to receive this honor in Pakistan.[6]

Philippines

wi‐tribe Philippines launched in 2010. This was the first expansion of the group into Southeast Asia.[2][7] In February 2010, Wi-Tribe launched "4G" wireless broadband service.[8] Since connection was based on wireless connectivity, service was oftentimes spotty and problematic. This is similar to the case of the likewise ill-fated Clearwire WiMAX Technologies of Bellevue, Washington, a company that closed shop in 2015. In 2012, several subscribers were having speed and issues that they just discontinued service after painfully hoping that service would improve. It is officially closed business in 2016
