The Weyhill Fair

Weyhill is a village, three miles west of Andover, Hampshire. Within it there is a church, a nursing home,[1] a pub[2] and an historic Fairground site that houses a number of craft studios, a Village Hall and a Tearoom [3] The historic Weyhill Fairground was the site used by Thomas Hardy in his book The Mayor of Casterbridge where Michael Henchard sells his wife. Hardy called it Weydon Priors. A fair has been held on the site as far back as the 11th Century.

In former times it had Weyhill railway station.[4]

Weyhill has a population of 630 people according to the 2011 Census.
