The Republic of Rwanda, a member of the East African Community, allows citizens of all African countries to obtain a visa on arrival. Citizens of most other countries must obtain an e-Visa online before departure.[1] All visitors must hold a passport valid for at least six months with at least one empty page.

Visa exemption

Citizens of the following nine countries are visa exempt for the length of stay indicated:

Visa free for visits up to six months (EAC)
Visa-free for visits up to 90 days
Visa free for visits up to 90 days (CEPGL)

Visa on arrival

Citizens of the following 56 countries may obtain an entry visa for US$30 on arrival valid for 30 days:

Citizens of all other countries must obtain a visa before arrival, either online, or at a Rwandan diplomatic mission.[3]

Future changes

Rwanda plans to remove visa requirements for all other African nationals travelling to the country by 2018.[4]
