Veronica Alexandra Tecaru (born January 14, 1984),[1] known by her stage name Veronika, is an Afro-Romanian singer. Born in Galați, Romania, Tecaru turned to singing after giving up a career as a basketball player. She began her music career in country's capital, Bucharest, as a member of Wassabi in 2006. Following the disbandment of Wassabi in 2009, Tecaru decided that she wanted to pursue a solo career. She then adopted her current stage name. Associated acts until now: Brad Vee Johnson (national tour) and Julian M (2011-2012).[2] According to her Facebook, Veronika plans to release a new single in 2013.
