Valerie Mulcahy

Valerie Mulcahy is an Irish Gaelic footballer who formerly played inter-county football with Cork. She won ten All-Ireland titles with her county team. In 2015, she became the first elite female star of Gaelic games to speak publicly about being gay.[1][2] In 2016, she announced her retirement from the Cork football team.[3] She is a secondary teacher and is an executive member of the ladies' version of the Gaelic Players Association.[4][5]
