The United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) has been the global leader in the transmission of pathology knowledge for more than 100 years and attracts to its ranks the leaders in 28 key science and practice areas ranging from anatomic to molecular pathology.
Members of the USCAP lead pathology innovation and its application. Their advances are communicated through high quality continuing medical education (CME) that has the highest approval of the Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education. The USCAP’s educational outreach comes in many forms: The Annual Meeting - the world’s largest meeting of pathology professionals, smaller regional meetings, and online content. These efforts are supported by the Academy’s two peer-reviewed journals, Laboratory Investigation and Modern Pathology, which disseminate information on current research and significant advances in the understanding of pathology diagnosis and practice.
Though a North American organization, the USCAP’s reach extends worldwide. As the largest division of the International Association of Pathology (IAP), the USCAP jointly sponsors educational events with other IAP divisions throughout the world. Through its Foundation, the United States & Canadian Academy of Pathology supports the continuing education of doctors and medical organizations in underserved nations.
Annual Meeting
The USCAP holds their Annual Meeting in a North American city in March. It is the World's largest pathology meeting with an international audience attending over 100 courses, meetings, conferences, as well as an exhibition hall. Thousands of individuals apply to have their scientific abstracts accepted and presented at this meeting each year. The conversion rate of an abstract presented at the annual meeting to a journal paper, overall, is 36%.[1]
