Triple Play 2000 is a baseball sports game released for the PlayStation, Nintendo 64 and Microsoft Windows in 1999. It is the only game of the Triple Play series released for the Nintendo 64 where it was only released in North America. It features the 1999 rosters, and 1998 stats which included Sammy Sosa's 66 HR and Mark McGwire's 70 home runs.

This iteration of Sculptured's baseball lineage has real players and teams up to date at the time of production. You can play single matches, a full season, the playoffs, or an all-out action Home Run Derby. Team selection and transfers come under player control. Jim Hughson and Buck Martinez provide the commentary on all the consoles except Martinez was not featured in the Nintendo 64 version. This was the first version to support Internet play on the PC.

Reception

IGN gave the PC version of the game a decent 7.0 out of 10 with only little criticism about the presentation stating that "the menu and graphic styles seem to have been made for a console, not a PC" despite a good intro,[1] but gave the N64 version of the game though a mediocre 5.4 out of 10 with lot of criticism about the gameplay stating it was slow, clunky and not much depth. They also criticised the graphics saying the colors were washed out, animation being jerky and the medium-resolution mode being squished.[2] However, it gave the PlayStation version an outstanding 9.2 out of 10 with fantastic response with presentation and the sound despite little bit of criticism of the gameplay stating the commands were awkwardly positioned.[3]
