Tohoku Pharmaceutical University

Tohoku Pharmaceutical University (東北薬科大学 Tōhoku yakka daigaku) is a private university in Sendai, Miyagi, Japan, established in 1949. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1939. The Tohoku Medical and Pharmaceutical University was founded during World War II. Medical and pharmaceutical departments closed beginning in 1917, which extended for 20 years, until 1937. The Tohoku Medical and Pharmaceutical University brought back pharmaceutical education in northern Japan after the government shut it down.[1] The Medical Department was established in 2015, the university became Tohoku Medical and Pharmaceutical University (東北医科薬科大学 Tōhoku ika yakka daigaku).
