Thomas Johnson (born June 24, 1981) is a former American football defensive tackle. He was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2005. He played college football at Middle Tennessee State.

Johnson was also a member of the Houston Texans, New York Jets, and Atlanta Falcons.

Professional career

Dallas Cowboys

Johnson was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent following the 2005 NFL Draft on April 28, 2005. He played in two games in 2005, recording two tackles. He was waived during final cuts on September 5, 2006, but was re-signed to the team's practice squad on September 6.

Houston Texans

Johnson was signed off of the Cowboys' practice squad by the Houston Texans on September 6. He played in eleven games in 2006, starting three. He recorded 19 tackles and one pass deflection during the season. He was released during mandatory roster cuts on August 26, 2007. Johnson did not play during the 2007 season.

New York Jets

Johnson was signed by the New York Jets to a future contract on January 15, 2008. He was waived during final cuts on August 30, 2008. Johnson did not play during the 2008 season.

Atlanta Falcons

Johnson was signed by the Atlanta Falcons to a future contract on January 5, 2009. He started in 10 games for the Falcons in 2009, making 20 tackles and forcing one fumble. He was waived during final roster cuts on August 31, 2010.
