The Peninsula Beverly Hills is a luxury, five-star hotel at the intersection of Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevard. The hotel is part of The Peninsula Hotels, who are owned by Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels. The Peninsula Beverly Hills was the second Peninsula branded hotel to open in the United States, with The Peninsula New York opening three years beforehand in 1988. In 2015 the hotel won the AAA Five Diamond Award for the 22nd year in a row while the Belvedere restaurant won it for the 20th consecutive year.[2] At the moment the Belvedere is the only restaurant in Los Angeles that has been awarded the prize.[3] When the hotel first opened in 1991 it was the first luxury hotel to open in Beverly Hills in 20 years.[4]

Location

As the hotel is located in the centre of Beverly Hills, it is very close to public amenities such as Beverly Gardens Park, Westfield Century City and the Los Angeles Country Club. The nearby shopping street Rodeo Drive is located within a five-minute distance.[5] The hotel is about a 35-minute drive from Los Angeles' main airport, Los Angeles International.[6]

Features

The hotel underwent a renovation in 2011 with all of the rooms being refurbished. There is also a 4,600 sq ft (430 m2) spa at The Peninsula. Located next to the Spa is a Fitness Center and a 60 feet (18 m). pool surrounded by 12 cabanas.[7] As well as the Belvedere, the hotel has two other restaurants, the Living Room and the Roof Garden.[8] There is also a separate bar called The Club Bar.
