The Bagpipe Society is an organisation based in Britain which aims to promote the bagpipe revival. Formed in 1986,[1] it is concerned with bagpipe traditions from around the world[2] as well as the bagpipes of Britain itself.[3] The Bagpipe Society publishes a quarterly journal called Chanter which contains articles about the bagpipe's history, music and playing as well as various reviews.[4] The society holds an annual gathering in England called the Blowout,[5] as well coordinating the International Bagpipe Day.[6][7][8][9]
