Tehatta subdivision is a subdivision of the Nadia district in the state of West Bengal, India. It consists of four community development blocks: KarimpurI, KarimpurII, TehattaI and TehattaII. The four blocks contain 36 gram panchayats and one census town. The subdivision has its headquarters at Tehatta.

Area

The subdivision contains one census town and rural areas of 36 gram panchayats under four community development blocks: KarimpurI, KarimpurII, TehattaI and TehattaII.[1] The only census town is: Karimpur.[2]

Blocks

KarimpurI block

Rural area under KarimpurI block consists of eight gram panchayats, viz. Harekrishnapur, Jamsherpur, KarimpurII, Pipulbaria, Hogolbaria, KarimpurI, Madhugari and Shikarpur.[1] Urban area under this block consists of and one census town: Karimpur.[2] Hogalberia, Karimpur and Marutia police stations serve this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Sikarpur.[4]p]okqrvl qe=to4t5lk nrw3k4c3]

KarimpurII block

Rural area under KarimpurII block consists of ten gram panchayats, viz. DhoradahaI, Murutia, NarayanpurII, Rahamatpur, DhoradahaII, Nandanpur, NatidangaI, Dighal Kandi, NarayanpurI and NatidangaII.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Thanapara, Karimpur and Marutia police stations serve this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Rahamatpur.[4]

TehattaI block

Rural area under TehattaI block consists of 11 gram panchayats, viz. BetaiI, Chhitka, PatharghataI, Shyamnagar, BetaiII, Kanainagar, PatharghataII, Tehatta, Chanderghat, Natna and Raghunathpur.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Tehatta police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Tehatta.[4]CHHITKA

TehattaII block

Rural area under TehattaII block consists of seven gram panchayats, viz. Barnia, Hanspukuria (contains Iswarchandrapur, Dharampur, Natipota, Chakbehari & Hanspukuria village), PalsundaI, Sahebnagar, Gopinathpur, Palasipara and PalsundaII.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Tehatta police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Palashipara.[4]

Legislative segments

As per order of the Delimitation Commission in respect of the delimitation of constituencies in West Bengal, the KarimpurI block together with six gram panchayats under the KarimpurII block, viz. DhoradahaI, DhoradahaII, Murutia, NatidangaI, NatidangaII and Rahamatpur, will constitute the Karimpur assembly constituency of West Bengal. The other four gram panchayats under the KarimpurII block, viz. Dighal Kandi, Nandanpur, NarayanpurI and NarayanpurII, along with nine gram panchayats under the TehattaI blockBetaiI, BetaiII, Chhitka, Kanainagar, Natna, PatharghataI, Raghunathpur, Shyamnagar and Tehatta, will form the Tehatta assembly constituency. The other two gram panchayats under the TehattaI block, viz. Chanderghat and PatharghataII, will be part of the Palashipara assembly constituency along with the area under the TehattaII block. Karimpur constituency will be an assembly segment of the Murshidabad (Lok Sabha constituency), whereas Tehatta and Palashipara constituencies will be segments of the Krishnanagar (Lok Sabha constituency).[5] Tehatta Subdivisional Area
