Steve Walker (soccer)
Steven Walker (born 1971) is a former All-Star All-American Collegiate soccer player from Newcastle upon Tyne, England. He played collegiate soccer for Boston University and is currently a physio with Rangers Football Club in the Scottish Premiership.[1]
Early Education
Walker was born in Newcastle upon Tyne and attended nearby Heaton Manor School from 1982 to 1989, before moving to the United States as a foreign exchange student with the intention of attending an american university. There, he attended FDR High School in Hyde Park, New York for the 1989 to 1990 academic year where his abilities on the soccer field earned him All-Star, Conference and State honors and a scholarship to Boston University.
Collegiate career
Walker entered Boston University in 1990 and quickly became one of the squads star players under coach Neil Roberts. During his four years (two as Captain), he started in 77 of 78 games and helped the Terriers compile an impressive 54-21-9 overall record and four North Atlantic Conference titles between 1990 and 1994.[2] His 32 goals ranks 31st on the University's all-time list.,[3]
Walker was named to the All Conference First Team in 1992 and 1993 in the America East Conference.[4] In 1993, Soccer News selected him as one of the nation's top defensive players in the country in their "Elite Eleven" list.
In his senior year, he was named to the All-American squad by the NSCAA. Walker also earned North Atlantic Conference Academic All-America honors for his performance in the classroom,[3] as well as the Scholar Athlete of the Year Award.[5] [6]

Physiotherapy career
Walker graduated from Boston University in 1994 with a degree in Physical Therapy and was inducted into the BU Athletics Hall of Fame in 1999.[3] After receiving his Masters Degree in 1995, Walker moved back to the UK to begin his career in physio. In 2003, he start working at Rangers Football Clubs Academy then was promoted to become the physio for the first-team in 2011.[1]
