Stephen Dixon (born in Newton-in-Furness, Cumbria) is a news presenter for Sky News.

Dixon co-presents Sky News Sunrise from 6 am to 10 am on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Since October 2016, his co-presenter has been Isabel Webster.

Dixon formerly presented the flagship programmes Sky News at Seven and Sky News at Ten every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Journalism career

Dixon's career began at Nottingham Trent University where he read for a BA in Broadcast Journalism, graduating in 1995 aged 21.

Before working for Sky News, Dixon worked for ITN as both a presenter and producer for ITV, NBC Superchannel, and Channel 5.

He also helped work as a producer and programme editor on the Channel 4 Big Breakfast News, and presented on finance channel Simply Money with Angela Rippon.[1]

Dixon was the first newsreader to report the 7 July 2005 London bombings.

Since January 2012, Dixon has presented Sunrise on Sky News. He has featured alongside Gillian Joseph, and now Isabel Webster.

Personal life

Dixon has gathered a large fan base since he started working for Sky.

He also has type 1 diabetes (he was diagnosed when he was 17 years old).[2][3]

Prior to April 2010, Dixon was referred to on Sky News,[4][5] and on his official website as "Steve".[6]
