State Council of the Chuvash Republic

The State Council of the Chuvash Republic is the unicameral legislature of the Russian Chuvash Republic. It succeeded the Supreme Soviet.

The deputies of the State Council are elected for a period of five years. There are currently 44 deputies.

Among the duties of The State Council is to adopt the Constitution of the Chuvash Republic, to ratify the republican budget and to control the way in which the laws of the Chuvash Republic are put into execution.

The presiding officer is the Chairman of the State Council of Chuvashia.
